At Hybrid Training Centre we make it our goal to be the
premier training facility in Tasmania for Martial Arts. As coaches we have a
wide range of experience and feel that in combination we have put together the
most effective and cutting edge martial arts academy currently available in
Tasmania. Hybrid Training Centre has developed a reputation for true quality,
producing champions in all our disciplines. Our students come from many walks of
life and are of all ages and genders. Our goal is to provide every person with
the tools to truly find out who they are and what they are capable of achieving,
you never know, YOU may be the next world champion!
Hybrid Training Centre offers a variety of programs and
exposes our students to the most effective martial arts available. All new
students are encouraged to attend our Foundation classes which cover the
fundamental skills required for the programs that we teach. The Foundation Class
covers the basics of all ranges of combat. Striking, clinching, takedowns,
ground grappling, submissions and escapes. Once a student is proficient in the
fundamentals, there are various streams of classes to choose from. We teach
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo and Mixed Martial Arts. Each of these
styles has been pressure tested and as such, are the most effective in their
given areas. Many of our students enjoy training in all our programs while some
choose to specialise in just one, whatever the choice though there is one thing
they can all agree on, Hybrid Training Centre provides the best coaching and
training environment in Tasmania.
I joined Hybrid 7 months ago to lose weight in a
different, fun way. Not only have i lost over 15kg but I gained life long
friends and a great knowledge of martial arts. I now plan to make it my career.

I found Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 11 years ago after training in several traditional martial arts for a few years. When I started BJJ I was 117kgs, with no real knowledge of my body and what it was capable of. Through BJJ I have been motivated to discover healthy eating, effective exercise and strength training and a more analytical approach to life. As a result I am now 95kgs and feeling stronger, faster and fitter than I did when I was 21, oh yeah, and I have made some great friends along the way too.
The day I was promoted to Purple Belt in BJJ was far more rewarding to me than receiving a Black Belt in Hapkido, which speaks volumes about the hard work and dedication that BJJ has allowed me to develop and display, I would recommend BJJ to anyone, anyone who is seeking something highly rewarding, but truly challenging that is.
